Languages-Portuguese
Portuguese is a Romance language which has its roots in Latin, but with a little Arabic influence. Spoken as a native tongue by some 260 million people ,Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language in the world, the most widely spoken in the southern hemisphere and also the the third most spoken in the western world . The reason for the high numbers of native Portuguese speakers is due to the spread of the Portuguese Colonial Empire, which meant that the language is now spoken in Brazil in South America, Goa and other parts of India, Macau in China, Timor in South-East Asia and five African countries.
