Top Tips for the Driving Test !
The Driving Test
You are now ready to take your driving test, so what does the test consist of?
Remember arrive on time with your learner permit and make sure to have the appropriate vehicle in the appropriate condition available to you on the day of your driving test!
Firstly you will undergo an eyesight test and vehicle safety questions followed by a drive with the examiner. When out with the examiner remember to stay calm and drive as your driving instructor (ADI) taught you. Your examiner will be looking for a number of things during the test-
Your use of mirrors/signals
Your interaction with other road users
Your overtaking
Adherence to the rules of the road
Your use of the vehicle controls
Compliance with road signs, markings and signals
Even if you make a small error do not panic!
It may not cost you your overall test, remember your driving test examiner will be looking for an all round level of safe driving. It is worth noting however that in the event of a serious driving error or if the test examiner deems you to be unsafe on the road your test maybe terminated immediately. Pass rates for driving tests are quite high so once you adhere to the rules and guidelines set out and get the appropriate training and experience you will hopefully pass your driving test at the first time of asking. You will then be able to apply for your full driving licence.
Full Driving Licence
Once you have passed your test you may apply for your full driving licence. You can apply for a licence for 1, 3 or 10 years and costs will vary depending on the tenor of your licence. It is recommended that your application be made to the licensing authority that is located nearest to you and once you have received it you must carry it in your vehicle at all times.
