What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese Healing Therapy which is administered by the “laying on of hands". Reiki’s foundation is that an unseen "life force energy" flows through all of us and that if our life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress or pain, and if it is high, we are more likely to be happy and healthy. The nme Reiki is derived from two seperate words, “Rei”, whose nearest translation is “higher power” and “Ki” which means “life force energy”. It was first developed 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui and has become an extremely popular complimentary or alternative medecine.

The benefits of Reiki treatment
Reiki treats both the body and the mind. For the body , Reiki treatment can help to alleviate a wide array of pains and maladies. For the mind and spirit, Reiki treatment can have many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. By re-balancing the body’s natural rhythm and energy flow, Reiki assists the body in providing its own natural healing mechanism.
How is Reiki administered?
The patient remains fully clothed during a Reiki session. There are no oils or lotions involved. The Practitioners lays their hands either on or slightly above the head of the patient. The patient can either be sitting or lying down. During the treatment the patient typically feels a great sense of security and comfort, and sometimes a warm sensation running through their body from the hands of the practitioner.
